Managing companies

Last updated 2026-10-13

The Companies tab of the Contact Hub is where your team tracks the businesses it works with — title companies, lenders, contractors, and any other vendor or partner.

Finding a company

Along the top, pick a view: All, or one for each of your team's company types (Buyer, Lender, Title Company, and so on). The Buyer view shows each company's Tier, Buy box, Last contacted, Last deal sent, and Owner, plus the Going cold filter and the Show not-a-buyer switch (see Verifying buyers); the Lender view shows the Lending box, Last contacted, and Owner. Every other view shows the company's types, city/state, Main contact, primary phone, and Last contacted.

Use the search box to find a company by name, city or state, any part of its email, or a phone number (formatting doesn't matter). Narrow the list with the Type filter, Not contacted in (30, 60, 90, or 180 days — companies never contacted are included), and Owner. For a company, Last contacted is the newest comment left on it.

Select a row to open the company's own page — see Viewing a company. The view and filters stay in the page's web address, so a reload opens the same list. If the list can't load, select Try again.

Companies can be selected the same way as contacts — and the selection carries across both tabs, so one Send a deal can go to buyer contacts and buyer companies together. See Selecting contacts and sending a deal.

Adding a company

Select Add Company in the top right, fill in at least a Company Name, and save. The form also lets you set an Address, City, State, ZIP, Website, one or more Company Types, Coverage Type (Nationwide, Regional, or Specialty), Service Markets, contact methods, and notes — all optional, and all editable later. The coverage type and markets you pick here apply to every type you picked for the company; afterwards each type keeps its own, and you change them on that type's tab of the company's page rather than in Edit Company. If the company saves but its markets don't, you'll see "Company created — markets weren't saved. Add them on the tab." — the company is there; don't create it again.

If a phone number or email you enter already belongs to a contact or company on your team, an amber note under that line names who has it — "Acme Title already has this phone". Select Open existing to go to that record instead (what you've typed here is discarded), or Create anyway (Save anyway when editing) to keep going. The same note shows when you edit a company — never for the company's own phones and emails — and a team admin editing a company also gets Merge into existing when the match is another company (see Merging duplicate contacts and companies). If a match turns up only when you save, TED holds that save once so you can see the note; saving again goes ahead. See When a phone or email is already on your team for the details.

If you only have view-only access to this section, you won't see Add Company, and a banner explains you'll need an admin to grant edit permissions.

The Archived view (the last view along the top, for members who can edit) lists archived companies with Restore on each row — see Archiving and restoring contacts and companies. Admins can download the list with Export CSV — see Exporting contacts and companies to CSV.
