Role Templates manages the global library of roles a team can use as a starting point for their own Roles — not any one team's actual roles.
Select Create Template to add one, or open the ⋯ menu on an existing row and select Edit: a Name, Description, an Auto Install toggle ("Automatically add to new teams"), and the same permissions matrix used on a team's own roles — one row per category, each set to None / View / Edit, with My deals / Team deals scope on the deal-bearing rows. See Roles and permissions for what each access level and scope value means, what a My lanes / All lanes grant on the Automators row controls, and how giving a template Edit access to Settings makes it an admin template — which locks every other row to Edit and Team deals, same as it does on a team's own role editor.
A System badge marks a built-in template. It's a label, not a lock — superadmins can edit or delete System and custom templates alike from the same ⋯ menu. Each row's Used By badge shows how many teams currently reference it; deleting a template doesn't affect teams already using it, it just stops new teams from getting it. Editing a template's permissions doesn't retroactively change any team's existing roles either.
Opening an older template that predates this matrix still works — its grants are read into the same rows you'd see on any other template, and saving it (even without changing anything) stores it in the current matrix format going forward.
