Resetting your password

Last updated 2026-09-02

There are two ways to reset your password, depending on whether you can still sign in.

If you're signed in

  1. Open your account menu (your name and avatar, top right) and select Profile.
  2. Under Security, enter a New Password and Confirm Password.
  3. Select Update Password.

If you're locked out

  1. On the sign-in page, select Forgot password? next to the password field.
  2. Enter your Email and select Send reset link.
  3. You'll see "Check Your Email" — we've sent a password reset link to your email address.
  4. Open the email and select the link. It takes you to a Set a new password page — enter a New password and select Save password. You're signed in automatically once it saves.

If the link says "This reset link is invalid or has expired," select Request a new link on that page to send yourself a fresh one — reset links expire and can only be used once.

Common issues

  • "Password must be at least 6 characters" — shown on the Profile page's Security section; your new password is too short.
  • "Password must be at least 8 characters" (or a message about needing an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, or a number) — shown on the reset-link page, which has stricter password requirements than the Profile page.
  • "Passwords do not match" — the two password fields need to be identical.
  • "This reset link is invalid or has expired." — select Request a new link to send yourself a fresh one.
