Connecting AI apps (Claude, ChatGPT, and more)

Last updated 2026-09-08

Connected Apps lets you link an AI chat app — Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, or Cursor — directly to your TED account. Once connected, it can answer questions about your deals and, if you allow it, make changes on your behalf, exactly as if you were using the app yourself.

This feature is currently in private beta, and Connected Apps only appears in the Settings sidebar once your team has been added to the beta. If you don't see it listed under Settings > Integrations, your team isn't in yet — use Report a problem in the ? help menu to ask the TED team to enable it for your team. Once enabled, the Connected Apps entry appears in the sidebar for everyone on the team.

What connecting an AI app does

A connected app acts as you — using your own login and your own permissions. It can never see or do more than you can already see or do in TED. When you connect an app, you choose what it's allowed to do:

  • Read — the app can look things up (deals, contacts, reports) but can never change anything. This is always included.
  • Write — the app can also create and edit things for you, like a teammate could. This is optional, and you approve it explicitly when you connect.

Connecting an app

  1. Go to Settings > Connected Apps.
  2. Find your app's card under Connect a new app (claude.ai, ChatGPT, Claude Code, or Cursor) and follow its steps.
  3. Copy the URL shown on the card using the Copy button, and paste it wherever that app asks for a connector or MCP server URL.
  4. The app sends you to TED to approve the connection. Pick the team you want it to work in, and decide whether to allow write access. Approve to finish.
  5. You'll land back in your app, ready to go. The new connection shows up under Your connections on the Connected Apps page.

Managing your connections

Your connections lists every AI app connected to your account — the app name, what it's allowed to do (Read / Write badges), when it was connected, and when it was last used. This list only ever shows your own connections, never a teammate's.

  • Active connections are working normally.
  • Revoked connections have been disconnected and show the date they were revoked. They're kept in the list (not deleted) so you can see your connection history.

Revoking a connection

  1. Go to Settings > Connected Apps.
  2. Find the connection under Your connections and select Revoke.
  3. Confirm in the dialog.

Revoking takes effect immediately — the app loses access to your TED account right away. You can reconnect later by starting over from the "Connecting an app" steps above.

Common issues

  • Connected Apps shows a "Request MCP access" button instead of the connection tools — this feature is in private beta and your team hasn't been enabled yet. Select Request MCP access to ask us to turn it on for your team.
  • The app can't make changes for me — you likely only approved read access when connecting. Revoke the connection and reconnect, choosing write access this time.
  • I don't recognize a connection in the list — revoke it right away, then check with your team about where it came from.
